Colin Blanks

Colin Blanks, long time member, has passed away. He drove Volunteer for many years on Wednesdays and for any racing, and in latter years manned the race box. Many of us remember him as he taught us RE at St Peter’s!  Our thoughts are with his son and family.

  1. I am sorry to hear that sad news and so near Christmas. Indeed Colin was a popular member, an asset to the BSC and as already stated, spent many years driving the Club launch and manning the race box. My condolences to Colin’s family.

  2. Sad news. Colin has been a stalwart of the club for many years, particularly in his contribution to race management. His underlying support when we were running Cadet Sqadron 43 events was always appreciated.

  3. So sorry to hear of Colin’s passing. It was he who introduced me to the BSC, and I have so many happy memories of innumerable hours afloat with him in Volunteer and me in Able. He was always willing to help with maintenance, and keen to attend cocktail parties To document his time with the Club would need a complete book. His RE lessons were something else again – who can forget slides of football players in long shorts?
