Here is the latest Junior newsletter
A windy start to the season but Great to see everyone back on the water.
Welcome back to Wednesdays!😀
After further easing of the Covid restrictions, we have felt able to restart our traditional Wednesday evening racing, albeit with some changes.
- Printed the 2020 course card off the website
- Read the covid statement
- Read the revisions to the sailing instructions (different start times to note for some!)
- Taken precautions to ensure you can socially distance and stay safe afloat
- Briefed any crew members about the covid rules and guidance
We really hope that you enjoy the Summer Series throughout August (4 races, 1 discard). Please note that there are no race fees being charged, if you have already paid, please contact the treasurer firstname.lastname@example.org who will refund or carry over to next year for you. The Race Box will be on VHF 37, flag boards etc as normal. The recall board (X flag) will be shown if anyone is OCS.
Please email the Vice Commodore Sail , Tom, viceCommodore@burnhamsc.co.uk with any questions or if you can help with crewing a flame for the club fleet.
With the easing of Covid guidelines we are pleased to be able to return to Wed Night sailing during August, Please read the following documents as they give details on what we can safely offer. Please remember that Covid recommendations change regularly and we may need to update these documents accordingly
Thank you for your continued consideration when using the pontoon and other club areas. Please can you be mindful of numbers on the pontoon, allowing time for those who are recovering their craft to leave the pontoon before coming down. We know it can cause delays, but please continue to exercise patience as we have have been doing an excellent job so far, showing due consideration and care. With the school holidays finally here (hooray!) please remember the pontoon code for buoyancy aids etc and be mindful that we cannot wait on the pontoon, or use it as perhaps we have in the past as another area to sit, picnic etc. Please use the decking or dinghy park areas for waiting and picnicing etc to allow others access.Thank you for your patience and acceptance of all we have to put in place, unfortunately it looks set to be the norm for some time to come and continue to enjoy the water safely.
A big thank you to everyone that turned up to help move the Furniture this morning and tidy the compound. Great job, well done. Many thanks BSC committee.
We need to clear the clubhouse of furniture in order to get the floor re-sealed so if anyone can lend a hand on Sunday 5th at approx 10am it would be greatly appreciated.
If we have sufficient volunteers we would also like to antifoul the “Flames” in preparation of getting back to sailing (so if that appeals to anyone bring suitable clothing).
In light of the government’s announcement yesterday with respect to the easing of social distancing rules from 4th July, we are very much hoping and looking forward to getting back to some organised sailing at the BSC soon. We are presently reviewing guidance from the RYA and further information will be provided.
